The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world." - Wikipedia

UK Free Kindle Books - 29/8/2010

UK free Kindle books:

1. Blood, Sweat and Tea: Real Life Adventures in an Inner-city Ambulance

"Tom Reynolds is an Emergency Medical Technician who works for the London Ambulance Service in East London. He has kept a blog of his daily working life since 2003 and his writing is, by turns, moving, cynical, funny, heart-rending & compassionate."

2. Dracula

"This book was converted from its physical edition to the digital format by a community of volunteers. You may find it for free on the web. Purchase of the Kindle edition includes wireless delivery."

3. Treasure Island

"This book was converted from its physical edition to the digital format by a community of volunteers. You may find it for free on the web. Purchase of the Kindle edition includes wireless delivery."

4. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

"It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world (the Wonderland of the title) populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic in ways that have given the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre, and its narrative course and structure have been enormously influential, especially in the fantasy genre."

5. Gulliver's Travels

"A novel by Irish writer and clergyman Jonathan Swift that is both a satire on human nature and a parody of the "travellers' tales" literary sub-genre. It is Swift's best known full-length work, and a classic of English literature.
The book became tremendously popular as soon as it was published (John Gay said in a 1726 letter to Swift that "it is universally read, from the cabinet council to the nursery"); since then, it has never been out of print."

6. More Blood, More Sweat and Another Cup of Tea

"The sequel to the bestselling memoir Blood, Sweat & Tea. Tom Reynolds is an ambulance worker. On any given day he can be attacked by strangers, sworn at by motorists, puked on, covered in blood and other much more unpleasant substances. He could help to deliver a baby in the morning and witness the last moments of a dying man in the afternoon. He deals with road accidents, knife attacks, domestic violence, drug overdoses, neglect and suffering. And you think you're having a bad day at work? Tom blogs about his experiences at the end of each shift.
7. Winnie-the-Pooh

"The Winnie-the-Pooh stories have been loved by generations of children since Pooh, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, Roo and Eeyore first made their appearance in 1926. In this first volume we meet all the friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, celebrate Eeyore's birthday, go on an "expotition" to the North Pole and lay a Heffalump trap. Accompanied by E.H. Shepard's original illustrations in colour, this is an ideal book for bedtime stories. --Philippa Reece"

8. The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights

No description available.

9. The Iliad

"Set in the Trojan War, the ten-year siege of Ilium by a coalition of Greek states, it tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles. Although the story covers only a few weeks in the final year of the war, the Iliad mentions or alludes to many of the Greek legends about the siege."

10. The Jungle Book

"These are the stories of Mowgli "the frog," a man-cub raised by wolves, and his journey to adulthood with the help of Baloo the bear, Bagheera the black panther, and many other memorable characters. The tales of Mowgli became a Disney movie classic, and the tale of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi the mongoose has also been adapted many times over, but the film versions are nowhere near as classic as this timeless book.--Submitted by Peter Whitlock"
