Amazon UK today has provided delivery dates for orders made around August 19th. These orders are due to be shipped this coming Monday and Tuesday, and are due to arrive within a week. My own order states that it will take 6 days for the Kindle to arrive from its ship date which I find hard to believe.
Current orders will be shipped within 2 to 3 weeks.
