Latest Kindle 3 News - Shipping Updates, Cheap Quality Kindle Cases and Firmware updates

Shipping Updates:
Amazon UK shipped thousands more Kindles to customers today. However, despite the progress, Amazon has fallen behind with orders made between August 16th and August 19th, which were expected to have shipped today. Amazon customer service says that these orders will be shipped between Monday, 13th September and Friday, 17th September. Orders are currently delayed by a week. New orders will ship with 3 weeks.

Cheap cases:
Those of you looking for a cheap case for your Kindle 3 now have an alternative. Firmware updates:
Amazon has today released a 3.0.1 software update for the Kindle. They state that "This software update adds the ability to create a new Amazon.com account directly from your Kindle, as well as additional performance improvements."
